Andrada-Maria Rusu is a first-year BSc Neuroscience and Psychology student at King’s College London, working as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Divyangana Rakesh and Dr. Phoebe Thomson. Her research interests focus on how environmental adversity and socioeconomic inequality influence mental health during childhood and adolescence. Her current research uses large-scale data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study to investigate how environmental factors influence the development of inattentive and hyperactive symptoms across adolescence, and whether these associations differ based on genetic predisposition. Moreover, her research examines whether positive environmental factors can buffer these effects. Ultimately, this work seeks to improve understanding of how genetic and environmental contexts shape developmental risk and resilience in ADHD.
